Daily News, the online up-to-date news source for all that is happening at McMaster University, was first created in the early 2000s. Ahead of its time in the early 2000s featuring subscription services and mobile design (yes in 2002!), the Office of Public Relations was faced with the growing divide between the constraints of the in-house content management system, and the needs of the University. To complicate the matters further, the old system had to be moved into any new system to preserve historical accounts.
iEve worked closely with the Office of Public Relations to create a design for the new website which was both within the McMaster brand guidelines, but also modern and innovative. With the design process finished, iEve worked closely with the University's internal IT department to ensure WordPress servers were secured and able to handle upwards of 1,000 hits a second, and 2 million+ visitors annually.
iEve was able to design and implement a server stack which was not only able to handle such circumstances, but also thrive in them (Fun fact: the website performance increased as more hits came to the server - talk about unexpected results!)
