Team of investigators from Canada and the United States had developed a measurement tool to evaluate the participation of children and youth in various environments. Results from this measure helped direct programming for service providers in the community area such as schools, recreation centres and treatment centres. This tool was initially developed in a paper format, but the team wanted a way to make it electronic to make it easy for parents to use and manage. The team also wanted a way for this tool to evolve as needs arose.
iEve reviewed the software requirements and created technical specifications. iEve then undertook series of consultation sessions to review various layouts and design choices for the user interface of the electronic tool. iEve was able to take advantage of several key libraries and technologies, including Adobe AIR, Flex, and ActionScript, to transform the physical measure into an easy to use electronic version. Working closely with the research team, iEve integrated the scoring mechanisms to generate valuable PDF reports which can be then shared.
iEve continues to maintain and support this tool including creating a web repository and SaaS model for the researchers to share with others.
